Earlier this week, I share that our oldest recently turned four and requested that he have a Paw Patrol birthday party this year.  He actually only recently started watching Paw Patrol, but knew the characters long before thanks to Christmas gifts from family.

So, we’ve been Paw Patrol fans here for a while and I excited to throw him a Paw Patrol party!

Today I wanted to hop on and show you how we made these fun Paw Patrol cake toppers for our birthday cake.  They were so easy to put together and really turn any cake or cupcakes into a themed dessert for your party!  Little absolutely loved helping me arrange them on his cake!

Thanks to Nick, Jr. – these cake toppers were a breeze to make.  I don’t even know how I came across their printable library, but if your little one likes any of the Nick, Jr. shows, it’s worth checking out to grab some fun, free printable activities!

Supplies

Instructions

  • Print your cake toppers and cut each one out.
    • If you use heavy cardstock for printing, you can skip the next step.  But we printed on regular copy paper since I wanted a red background anyway.

  • Glue each topper onto cardstock paper and cut out again.
    • You’ll see that I didn’t cut exactly for each badge on the toppers – I was pretty precise with the pictures, but was more simple for the red background.

  • Once you’ve cut out your cake toppers, you’ll need to attach the toothpicks.  You may choose to simply tape them on, but to make sure they were sturdy, I opted to put a dab of hot glue on the back of each topper to attach our toothpicks.
  • Be sure to remove any of those pesky hot glue strings that get left behind.

  • Once the glue dries, you’re ready to go!  Use your cake toppers in cupcakes, or your regular chocolate cake to turn it into a fun, pup-tastic treat!

Really, does it get any more simple than this?

The answer, is yes.  You could just buy a Paw Patrol cake from the store that’s already themed all the way, but I love making our birthday cakes over here.  And these sweet cake toppers were a festive addition to our cake!

And if you are planning a Paw Patrol party, be sure that you didn’t miss our easy Paw Patrol themed party food.  I’m not kidding when I say we keep it simple around here for birthday parties.
