With Easter coming up so quickly this year, I thought it would be fun to share some simple, Christ-centered Easter activities and crafts for kids and families.  These are perfect to do at home, and can also be used for preschool or church classes – they make great Sunday School Easter crafts!

Man, can you believe that Easter will be here so soon?

It feels like it sneaks up on me every year and here it is again.  Easter looks different this year for us and most others as we have been worshiping at home rather than meeting together in church.

So, we’ve been pulling out some of our old Easter crafts and making the most of it.

Christ-centered Easter activities and crafts for kids and families.  Perfect for home, and preschool or Sunday School classes. Easy Easter crafts for kids.

As we get ready to celebrate, we want to be sure that we teach our kids the reason that we celebrate – the death and resurrection of Jesus.  As Christians, our hope is found in the fact that Jesus died on the cross so that our sins may be forgiven AND that he rose again three days later.

So, if you are looking for some fun ways to create a special, Christ-centered Easter season in your home this year, here are a few simple crafts and activities your kids (and whole family) can enjoy!

DIY Resurrection Eggs

This is something new that we are doing this year.  My friend Keri created these DIY resurrection eggs that are an easy DIY version of these eggs.  She’s also created a great printable complete with 12 Bible verses that tell the story of Easter to go along with them.

This is perfect for this year since Easter actually falls on the 12th, but this is something you can save and do year after year!

Palm Sunday Palm Branch Crafts

Palm Branch craft for Palm Sunday - Easy Christ-Centered Easter Craft

These easy construction paper and craft stick palm branch crafts are perfect for Palm Sunday – when we celebrate Jesus’ arrival into Jerusalem.   We made these last year and will definitely be making them again.

The boys have fun waving them around and shouting “Hosanna!” as we tell the Easter story.

And they will make a great activity for worshiping at home this year.

Easter Cross Resist Art Craft

Tape Resist Art Easter Cross Craft - Perfect Easter craft for Toddlers and Preschoolers

This resist art cross craft is another fun way to keep your Easter celebration Christ-centered.  You really can’t mess this one up – just put down painter’s tape on a piece of card stock in the shape of a cross and let your kids paint around it.

Easy peasy.

Reading the Easter Story

Another way to help teach your children about Easter is by reading the Easter story to them.

Frankly, I think that reading the account of the resurrection straight from the Bible is a great way to celebrate as a family.  But, there are also several good books that you can read with your kids leading up to Easter to help teach them about Jesus and his death and resurrection.

We love reading stories from our Jesus Storybook Bible and this year, we’ve been reading this book as we lead up to Easter, which has been a great read aloud for us!

He is Risen! Paper Plate Resurrection Craft

He is Risen! A fun, Christ-centered Easter craft for kids using paper plates to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus

Another fun Easter craft for kids this Easter – this He is Risen! paper plate craft.  We recently did this and my oldest LOVED it.  He loved decorating the plate and using the brad fastener to make the stone be able to roll away, just like in the story.
