Okay, y’all.  Easter has really sneaked up on me this year.  I can’t believe that it’s this weekend.  We were having so much fun with all the St. Patrick’s Day activities, that I totally failed to put things together to share prior to Easter.

Hopefully, we’ll be able to get to more activities here at home and I’ll be sure to share them with you – but it won’t be before Easter.  Sorry about it.

That said, I was reminded recently of what I always say on here about crafting with kids – it’s about the process and so today’s craft is just that.  Sticker Eggs – a super easy Easter craft that I promise your toddlers will love.  It’s not fancy.  It doesn’t take long to put together.  And it’s mostly just about finding something to engage your kids, get in a few teachable moments, and to just enjoy each other’s company.

Sticker Eggs – A Quick & Easy Easter Craft for Little Ones

We’re working on fine motor skills over here these days.  We’re also really into stickers.  That’s great because stickers are a great way to practice fine motor skills as kids learn to pick the stickers off the page and move them to the new place and stick them down again.

My original intention was to have Little stick the stickers only between the lines on the eggs, but it was more fun to let him just decorate the eggs as he wanted.  of course, we also included glitter glue for some extra fun (and because Little grabbed them out of my supply cabinet before I could get them).

Directions

  • Use a marker to draw Easter egg shapes onto construction paper and cut them out.
  • Draw designs onto each egg (totally optional, but fun).
  • Cut eggs out.
  • Let toddlers decorate how they choose.

And that’s it.  All in all, this took me about 5 minutes to put together, and provided at least 20 minutes of fun crafting time for Little so I’d call it a win.

I realize this isn’t some elaborate post.  To be honest, it might not even seem that creative.  But when Little asked to do arts and crafts, you better believe we were doing arts and crafts.  And I just love to watch him create.  So let this be a little encouragement for you if you’re not feeling so creative today, Mama.  Just pull out some stickers.  Cut shapes out of paper and let your little one have at it.  Our kids are already creative on their own.

I love this idea! My daughter is allergic to eggs, but she always wants to decorate them like her friends, so this is a perfect way to decorate some eggs with out worrying about touching eggs. Can’t wait to try.

Yes! We only bake without eggs now so the littlest can enjoy the fun, too!

  6. Just goes to show that activities don’t have to be elaborate or time consuming to be fun! My kids actually saw your post on IG for this activity and they said, “Mom, can we do that? It looks so fun!”

    1. Mary Leigh @ Live Well Play Together says:

I’m so glad to hear that! I’m actually trying to learn that more and more. To not pressure myself to create elaborate activities. Most of the time, simple ends up being beat for all of us!

  7. We loved doing this activity so much! Thanks for sharing!

Yay!! I love to hear that so much! I hope y’all had a happy Easter!!

  8. I think this is a great craft, and the simplicity of it makes it good. Little kids don’t want things to be complicated, and this is very manageable for a 2-3 year old.

It really was fun and easy to prep and manage!

  9. Aw, what a cute idea. I like that it’s easy to put together too. I know my oldest niece and nephew love to make things! 🙂

      Thanks! It was really fun!

  10. This is great, my kids love crafty activities and all the intricate crafting pre made kits can often be quite hard for them to do. Sometimes basic is best! #Bloggersbest

I totally agree – basic is definitely best around here!
