37 weeks!  What a big deal in pregnancy land – we’re officially full term, which means that baby really could start to make his arrival any day now.  Honestly, I’m okay if he holds on a little longer, but my hospital bag is packed none the less!

37 Weeks Pregnancy Update

It is really starting to hit me that we could become a family of five any day now.  Looking back on my second pregnancy, the 37 week update was the last one that I posted here on the blog since little Mister decided to make his entrance just after 38 weeks – 11 days early.

Now that we’ve officially made it past his second birthday, I am beginning to focus even more on the newest arrival that we’re all eager to meet.  Trying to be intentional about soaking in every last drop of this season while I can, though.

How far along? 37 weeks + 5 days.  We’ll be 38 weeks on Friday, so this might as well count for both 37 and 38 weeks, I suppose.

And I’m still guessing that he’ll be a little early, just like his brother.

Maternity clothes? Yep.  Mostly leggings.  This cardigan with leggings over EVERYTHING.  Lots of dry shampoo and dangly earrings to make me feel more put together in these last few weeks.

Sleep: Eh.  I actually think I sleep okay for being so large these days.  I have woken up a couple of times with leg cramps the last couple of weeks.  And waking up kind of achy if I’ve been in the same position for a long time.  BUT, it is so difficult to change positions at this point, so what is a girl to do?

Also, still going to bed too late, but that’s not pregnancy related so much as still working on setting a better sleep schedule for myself (or maybe just practicing to be up all the time in a few days).

Best moment this week:  We celebrated our youngest one turning 2 with a family birthday party and a fun family day together on his actual birthday!  What a special treat!  I think I am grieving him not being a baby a little bit as I get ready to enter into the newborn phase again so it was extra special to celebrate him!

Movement:  Some days are more active than others, but I can definitely tell that he is lower than he has been!

Food cravings:  All of it.  All of the food.  But also, sushi.  I don’t even know why – maybe because it’s something I can’t have.  But I’ve told hubs that I really want to have some good sushi after this baby is born!

Anything making you queasy or sick:  Not so much these days.  Even the heartburn that I’ve mentioned the last several updates has mostly subsided.  Just starting to feel uncomfortable and having a harder time getting around.

Labor Signs: Nothing to report.  Except lots of movement that feels much lower like I said, but nothing other than that.

Other Pregnancy Symptoms: Nothing new.

Wedding rings on or off?  Still off.  I’ve been wearing a couple of these silicone rings in their place all day every day.

Happy or Moody most of the time: Mostly happy.  Trying to be intentional about this time that we have left in this season with the boys.

Weekly Wisdom:  Sometimes it’s a good idea to just read a book.  Or watch a show.  Or go to sleep.  Just not work.  Rest is very good.

In case you ever wondered what it’s like taking photos around here! <3

Milestones:  I passed my Group B Strep test.  My baby turned 2 years old!! I packed my hospital bag and organized our baby clothes.  I think that’s a lot to celebrate.  (Also the doctor said that I was about 1.5 cm dilated.  Take it with a grain of salt.  I was 3 cm dilated for several days before our oldest was born 5 days late.  And just about 2 when our second was born 11 days early.  I know that babies will come when they’re ready.  But, I’ll be thankful for any progress in the meantime!)

On packing the hospital bag – I wanted to create an updated post (and still might) about everything I’m taking to the hospital and what I’m leaving out this time around – but I really ended up just referencing this post I wrote a couple of years ago for what to pack. I made some changes, but if you are packing a hospital bag, I highly recommend grabbing this checklist

Looking forward to: Enjoying family time as a family of four in these last days and then getting to welcome our newest boy to the team in just a little bit!
