Our 33 Week pregnancy update with Baby #3.  Follow along as we prepare for our third baby and becoming a family of five!  You can see all our pregnancy updates for baby #3 here.

Well, here we are – 33 weeks (plus some) pregnant with baby #3!  I have to remember to keep up with these updates because the weeks go by so quickly before I realize, “wait, I haven’t written an update this week!”

And then just like that, we’re another week along and moving quickly towards meeting our new little boy.  (Read our 30 weeks pregnant update here.)

If you’re like me, you’ve been in full on Christmas prep mode the last few days/weeks and it has been non-stop.  I won’t even lie, I have had a more than one moment where I have been totally overwhelmed, frazzled, and frankly just feeling like I am treading water over here.

So much to do and prepare.  It seems like no matter how much prep work I do, there is still more.  And with much prayer, some quiet time, and a little melt down to Hubs, I think we’re ready to settle in and enjoy this sweet season.

But, before we rush off to visit family for the holidays, here is our 33 week pregnancy update!

33 Weeks Pregnant Updates:

How far along? 33 weeks + 4 days, although at our appointment on Friday, the doctor said that I was measuring about 33.5-34 weeks.  Not shocking because both of my boys have been pretty big when they were born.

My best guess is that we probably have about 5 weeks left.  I’ll be shocked if I go much past my due date.

Maternity clothes? Yes. Whatever stretches and fits.  Kind of tired of maternity clothes, wishing I had more maternity leggings because I would be in the ALL DAY EVERYDAY if I could.

And waiting to be able to update my closet once my body returns to some sense of normal (I know, this is almost laughable right now, but a girl can dream.)

Sleep: Not nearly as much as I should be getting.  Still figuring out healthy boundaries for my body.  Becoming a lot more sensitive to what/when I eat before bed.  Heartburn is real and keeps me up sometimes.

Other times, it’s looking at a screen that might keep me up.  Mostly, I can’t fully blame pregnancy – although it is becoming ever more uncomfortable to turn or change positions at night (or day, let’s be real).

Best moment this week:  Honestly, last week was a long one.  It started off really great Monday with a trip to our local Bass Pro Shop to see Santa and fun Christmas activities.  Monday ended in the Emergency Room with the youngest needing stitches after a fall playing at home.  We spent lots of time with friends, which was really wonderful.

But, by Friday, my need for rest, calm, and cleaning the house was strong.

That said, I really was so grateful to see so many special people, get our shopping mostly done and wrapped, and piles cleaned up around home.  I’m thankful for neighbors who could watch our oldest so he didn’t have to go to the ER with us.  I’m thankful that my sweet baby’s stitches seem to be healing well and haven’t bothered him this week.

And I am really thankful for a healthy report from the doctor for our newest baby.

There is a lot of hustle and bustle.  Things we can control and things we can’t.  But there is still SO MUCH to be thankful for.

Movement:  Always depends on the day.  Definitely in a healthy range of movement, but nothing wild, I think.

Food cravings:  You know, just eating everything.

Anything making you queasy or sick:  Not unless you count heartburn after the fact.

Labor Signs: Nope.  And hopefully not for several weeks.

Other Pregnancy Symptoms: Last update, I mentioned several new varicose veins – still have those and hoping to get some compression stockings ASAP.  Also, lots of discomfort in my hips and tail bone.  All my joints are preparing to deliver a baby.

Nothing that is unbearable or alarming.

My doctor calls it “cumulative wear and tear on your body from 3 pregnancies in 5 years”.  She’s right.  Even so, I will be thankful for this body and the hard work it’s doing.

Wedding rings on or off? Still on and holding strong!

Happy or Moody most of the time:  Going between really happy and thankful and totally overwhelmed.  I think it’s compounded by the holiday stress, hormones, the anticipation of so much change, and nesting/home projects.

Weekly Wisdom:  Sometimes you just need a good cry.  Sometimes you need to just say (thoughtfully) exactly how you’re feeling – out loud to someone.  And sometimes just putting the phone down to remove all kinds of distractions and deciding that today really is a good day for a good day – come WHATEVER may – is really helpful.

Milestones:  No real pregnancy milestones over here this week.  We have our Group B Strep Test in a couple of visits and other than that, it’s just monitoring and waiting for baby to decide to make his appearance.  I am starting to think about packing our hospital bag though.  Trying to be as minimal as possible this time around, but will definitely still be taking some of my fave comforts.

Will let you all know what we decide to pack this time!

Looking forward to: Celebrating Christmas.  We had our church’s Christmas service last night and I just love it so much.  Honestly, when I take the time to sit and think about Christmas – that Jesus actually came down to live with us, I cannot get over it.

It turns my heart to worship.  It’s worth celebrating.  At Christmas and all the other days, too.

Merry Christmas, friends!  I hope you have a really wonderful holiday with those you love the most.  If it’s a hard season for you this year, I hope you find some rest and comfort.  And if it’s stressful and overwhelming, I hope you find stillness and quiet.  And if you’re eating all the Christmas cookies over there where you are.  You just keep right on.
