Our 22 Week pregnancy update with Baby #3.  Follow along as we prepare for our third baby and becoming a family of five!  You can see all our pregnancy updates for baby #3 here.

Happy Monday, friends!  It’s been a couple of weeks, around here!  We had a great and full weekend full of things we planned and things we didn’t.  Hello, husband spending hours at the car dealership for recall work and replacing our side mirror that was side-swiped when we were parked downtown…or a sweet sweet toddler that wouldn’t nap unless he was snuggled up to me in the rocking chair.

But he needed sleep so badly – and rather than fight it, I embraced the opportunity to rest myself and just held my sweet little baby because as his big brother is proving and this little baby in my belly reminds me, he won’t be a baby forever.  And a snuggled up rocking chair nap is just what we both needed.

About a month ago, we announced that we were expecting baby #3 around here.  And here’s our update.  Or bump-date (is that what they call this?).

22 Week Pregnancy Updates:

How far along? 22 weeks + 3 days

Maternity clothes?  Yes and no – and I’m sure this will be my answer for most of the pregnancy.  I was just looking at my 37 week pregnancy update from our littlest and realized that I was still wearing some really versatile things that were non-maternity at that point – and I was definitely not small.  So, hopefully I’ll be able to reuse lots of those things again this year.

But mostly, just trying to wear whatever fits these days.  It got close to 100 degrees a couple of days last week, and I refuse to buy summer maternity clothes since I’m hoping it cools down any day now.  I don’t love spending a lot on maternity clothes, but I am looking forward to updating my wardrobe a tiny bit for the new season.

Stretch marks?  Not a ton of newly noticeable stretchmarks.  Might take this question out for future updates unless there’s anything new to report.

Sleep: I’m not always the best at resting.  We stay up too late and I’ve been trying to get up earlier in the mornings to get my own quiet time and/or work done and prepare for the day before everyone else gets up.  As far as pregnancy specific sleep issues – nothing new to really report.  I get up about once or twice per night to shift positions, but nothing crazy.

Best moment this week: Unrelated to pregnancy, but our oldest boy has been really creative this week and it has been really fun to watch.  He’s been crafting on his own, practicing his scissor skills, and drawing more and more and it makes me so glad to watch.

Movement: More and more these days.  I still can’t feel kicks outside of my belly, but I am starting to be more aware of when baby is active.  I will be really glad to feel those sweet movements more regularly.

Food cravings:  I mean, everything.  Just really love to eat and I’ve been trying to make healthy choices, but also craving lots of carbs.

Anything making you queasy or sick:  Thankfully no.  I haven’t had real food aversions with either pregnancy once getting past the first trimester sickness.  And I do not take that for granted.

Have you started to show yet:  Yes.  For real.  People have started asking more frequently when I’m due which is a good sign to me that I am actually looking pregnant and not just like I ate a big lunch.  Although, I definitely show more after a big lunch.  😉

Gender prediction:  We know and we’ve been telling friends as we see them.  Hoping to share over on Insta soon and will share in the next update here on the blog!

Labor Signs:  Hopefully not for several weeks.

Belly Button in or out?  Ugh. Way out.  Last pregnancy, I think I developed a tiny hernia and I’ve started to notice it again this pregnancy.  It makes my belly button way more forward a lot earlier (honestly, it just looks stretched out, but it’s definitely out).  And it can feel really tender if one of the boys touches it directly when they sit on my lap or if I hold them too long.  I’ve been really careful not to twist into funky positions or lift anything too heavy because of it.  And thankfully, it is not something that bothers me most of the time.

But to answer the question – my poor belly button didn’t stand a chance.

Wedding rings on or off? On! And I’m hopeful to be able to wear them the whole time.  I made it through last pregnancy with them and I’d love to do the same this time around!

Happy or Moody most of the time: Does tired count?  In all seriousness though, a friend recently shared this post with me about slowing down at the “pace of children” and it is something that I’ve been thinking on a lot this week.  And to be honest, it has really helped my perspective.  That said, I did put myself in time out once last week when I felt myself getting so impatient and frustrated – so I definitely don’t have it all together.

Weekly Wisdom: I wish I had some.

Milestones:  A healthy anatomy scan.  Feeling more little kicks.  Officially being past half way (which is wild and crazy and really difficult for me to fully wrap my head around)!

Looking forward to:  A quick getaway with my honey soon!  We went to Boston for a long weekend before we had the littlest.  It was such a good, refreshing time for us to focus on our marriage.  We knew we wanted to take another trip before adding baby #3 and I cannot wait!
