How in the world are we already into the first full week of March?  We started this year out strong with some goals for this year and now that we’re in March, I think it’s time for an updated goals list, don’t you think?

If you missed my goals for 2019 as a whole, be sure to check it out here.  This list is specific to this month as I’m making steps towards our annual goals.  Every little step counts.

March Goals

We’ve got a busy month this month, but these are the things I’m hoping to accomplish for March.  Hoping to circle back in a month with some updates and new goals!

Personal

Get back into a gym routine

I was doing so well at the beginning of the year.  Then Hubs was traveling for a week in February, we’ve had some busy weekends, and one things after another, it’s WAY easier to get out of the gym habit than into it.

But, I did get to the gym over the weekend and I’m hoping to get back this week.  My body hasn’t been feeling the best and I know that a big part of it is my being out of the gym.

My goal for the year was to average 3 times per week, so that’s what I’m hoping to get back to.

Stay Consistent with Bible Study Fellowship Study

I mentioned here that the boys and I started going to a local Bible Study Fellowship and it has been so life-giving.  The biggest thing for me has been staying disciplined and consistent with getting the reading and study questions done.

For March, my goal is to further this habit and find a time of day that works best for my focus on Bible study.

Finish Reading 2 Books

My goal for the year was to read 4 books, so I need to update it.  I currently have 6 books on my nightstand that are all partially read.  Some are farther than others and I’m aiming to finish 2 of them this month.  (To be fair, I’ve already read a couple of them before, but they are just that good.)

The books to finish this month are:

Women of the Word by Jen Wilkin – I’m going to a conference later this month where she’ll be the main speaker, so I want to finish this book before then.

Walking with God in the Season of Motherhood by Melissa Kruger– I’ve been reading through this devotional for a LONG time.  I was consistent for a while, then put it aside, then re-read some weeks, then put it aside again.  We take a week off of BSF this month and I’m hoping to get it finished during that week.

Date Night Out with Hubs

Date nights are so important and life giving for our marriage.  We try to do our Date Night In Boxes every month and find meaningful ways to connect at home, but it’s always nice to get out together, too.

Aiming for a fun date night out this month.  Now, let me go make sure Hubs knows.  😉

Schedule 2 Play Dates with Friends

Because having friends is important.  It’s true that it takes a village around here.  Play dates are good for the kids to be around other kids that aren’t siblings and good for mamas to have another adult around during the day.

Thinking about cultivating good, healthy friendships this year and play dates are the way we’re doing it this month.  (also, do not have a play date on the calendar this month yet, so need to get on that…)

Home

Organize the Boys’ Keepsakes and Crafts

Let’s be real – this is mostly organizing Little’s crafts.  The littlest has not built nearly the collection of art projects yet.  But still.  It’s got to get under control.  I did purchase some bins and file folders though, so we’re off to a good start and I’m confident this will get done!

Put Loose Photos into an Album

We have so many loose printed photos piled up in a drawer and I’d love to get them into a photo album.  I’m still thinking about the best way to print photos moving forward, but for now, I need to organize the ones we have and I’d like them in an album so I can look at them more easily.

Clear off My Dresser

I want our master bedroom to be peaceful and calm and too often, it becomes not that.  Things pile up on my dresser that I need to find a home for, need to do something with, or just need to get away from the boys at any given moment.

This is just embarrassing, but it’s been worse, if I’m being honest and I really want to stop using it as a catch all. So here’s to some accountability….

This month, I want to clear that space off and keep it that way.

Blog

Plan Content for March and April

We’ve got 2 holidays coming up – St. Patrick’s Day and Easter, so hoping to include some fun activities plus more personal, lifestyle type posts as well.

Post on Instagram at Least Once per Week

Some weeks I’m great at it, other weeks, I’m not.

Update at least One Older Post for Better SEO

Currently, most of my blog traffic comes from Pinterest.  In a far second place is organic search traffic – or Google.  I’m hoping to start updating some of my older content as I can to better optimize them for Google search and to update photos and pin images where I can to continue to promote there, too.

What’s on our Calendar This Month

And with that said, our calendar is fairly packed this month.  I have 2 baby showers (1 for my baby sister that I’m hosting), a women’s conference weekend, Hubs has a “dad-shower” – is that a thing?  I don’t really know what to call it – but the guys are all getting together to celebrate a new-dad-to-be in our friend group.  And I imagine it will be different than the baby shower the girls will be having.

The EASIEST balloons for a baby shower – they’re like $5 at Wal-Mart and super easy to put together!

Finally, daylight savings time is beginning this weekend.  I’m pumped for the warmer weather and more daylight.  But y’all.  My kids go to bed too late already.  You can trust that we will be VERY active before we have to spring our clocks forward so hopefully we can have an early bedtime because let me tell you how excited I am to lose an hour of sleep…

Thanks, lady! Y’all are rocking it over there!

  1. These sound awesome! I just recently heard about how good Women of the Word is and really want to read it! Also, I FINALLY put some of our printed out pictures into an album and it is the best thing ever!! It’s so so special to have an easy way to flip through precious memories. Target has a great album that holds about 250 pictures!
