Happy Friday, friends!  We’ve made it to the end of yet another week.  It was a full week over here for us.  Good, but busy.  I’m putting the final details together for my baby sister’s bachelorette party this weekend, so we are go go go today!

That said, I’m excited to be back this week for another round of Five Things on Friday.  It’s the time of week where I get to share five sometimes related, other times not, things with you all.  It’s always a mixed bag, but we like it that way.

Be sure to check out lots of other great Five on Friday posts at these link ups:

Shall we begin?

A New Journal

Five on Friday [vol. 2]: A Weekly Round-up with Live Well Play Together

Anybody else love to write things down with pencil and paper?  I write down all the things.  Reminders, lists, Bible verses, notes.  If I don’t write it down I will forget it.  Well, I’ll forget it when I need it.  I’ll almost certainly remember it after the fact.  Anyway, the journal that I’ve been using is running out of paper, so I picked this pretty little thing up from TJ Maxx on Wednesday and I love it so much.

A Blogging Class

Wednesday night, I used the journal above to take notes at my first blogging class.  I signed up for a course on Monetizing your Blog through SkillPop with the lovely Molly from Still Being Molly.  Not only did I learn a ton, it was really great to meet and connect with other bloggers in my area.  As the Live Well Play Together name implies, I really love to do things in community, so I always enjoy to meet and network with other bloggers.  I gained so many nuggets of wisdom from Molly and I’m excited to implement some of her tips around here.

A Delicious Dinner

Five Things on Friday [ vol. 2] A Weekly Roundup on Live Well Play Together

On Monday night, I cooked a delicious chicken bacon pasta casserole.  It’s based off of a skillet chicken cordon bleu recipe I found on Pinterest a while back, but not cooked in a skillet and with bacon.  I’m hoping to share the recipe here with you all soon!  It was SO good.  Everyone went back for seconds.

A New Pair of Shoes

I mentioned last week that my baby sister is getting married in May (2 weeks from tomorrow!!).  As such, this mama needed to get a new pair of shoes.  I went looking everywhere for formal shoes.  I had a few stipulations: comfortable, affordable, pretty.  Finally, I found these beautiful rose gold heels at Macy’s on sale for $50.  They weren’t cheap, but I felt ok about it since I really like them and I know I’ll wear them again.

As seen here in real life, via Instagram, because even thought they are pretty comfortable, I still want to break them in before the big day.

A Rose Bush in Full Bloom

Five on Friday [vol. 2] A Weekly Round-up with Live Well Play Together

Our rose bushes are in full bloom and I love them so much!  We got about 3 full days of rain last week followed by some mild temps, which was really great for these guys.  I pruned them pretty far back after last year because they were growing so high and near the front porch.  It made me nervous about how they would do this year, but they are back and seem to be stronger than ever.  I think there’s a lesson in there for us – pruning, growing, strengthening.  They make me so happy though.  I love seeing God’s creation on display in and around our home!

In Case You Missed It

In case yo missed any of my earlier posts this week, I shared a fun recap of our family strawberry picking adventure & a yummy cheesecake recipe.  (The recipe is SUPER easy and it makes a delicious cheesecake!)  I also share a product review of Origins’ A Perfect World Skincare line that I’ve been using.

And that’s it for this week.  I’m signing off here for the weekend as I’ll be celebrating by baby sister’s bachelorette weekend!  Be sure to follow along on Instagram to keep up!

What about you?  Any fun plans for this weekend?
