Happy Friday friends; I hope you’ve had a great week!  Our week has been full this week in all sorts of good ways and we are excited to be able to celebrate Easter this weekend with our family.  Hopping by today to share some of our highlights of this week before we move into the weekend.

Track-Out Field Trips

My sister is a teacher in one of our local year-round schools, which means that she’s out of school a couple of weeks each season.  And when she is, we always make a point to do something fun and special at least one day with her.

It’s special for the boys and I enjoy time together plus an extra set of hands, which allows us to go on adventures I otherwise wouldn’t take the boys by myself during the week.

We started our week off this week by taking a day trip up to Greensboro Science Center.  Our boys love going to hands-on museums and this is one of our favorites.  We don’t even live super close, but we’ve been 3 times over the past year (you can read about our first visit here).  It’s that good.

Little loves all the animals, but he was especially excited to get back to their “Color Maze” which is a temporary exhibit through August.  If you’re local, or near Greensboro, or driving through – it’s a fun place to stop and spend a few hours.

Live Well Play Together Turns 2!

I also quietly celebrated Live Well Play Together’s second birthday this week!  Last year, I wrote about some of the things I learned in my first year of blogging and while I’ve learned a lot in this second year, one of the biggest things I’ve learned is that it’s okay sometimes to take a step back.

Don’t worry – the blog isn’t going anywhere.  But I am learning better how to stop chasing the hustle, choose to say yes to things that are important, and create margin for rest.  I’m definitely not perfect at it, but it’s something that’s on my mind, which means working hard to be intentional in this space and not skipping more important things just to chase after more page views and growth.

I’m thankful for every person who takes time to read posts, share them, comment on social media, send me a DM, all of it.  Every little interaction is noticed and appreciated.

BUT, that doesn’t mean we’re letting it pass by without any celebration.

Later this month, I plan to do a “favorite things” giveaway over on Instagram, so be sure you’re following along there.  It’s totally unsponsored, out of my own pocket, and my thanks for sticking around for the last couple of years!

Christian Mom Friends Hangout

Next, I recently became an admin in a new Facebook group for Christian Mamas with my friend, Inez from For the Love of Mom.  This group is a new group, but we hope it will be a space for moms to support and encourage one another as we work to raise up our children to love God and others.

We’d love to have you in the group; you can find us here!

Family Picnics

On Thursday night, we made an impromtu trip to Chick-Fil-A for a family picnic and it was the best.  The weather was absolutely gorgeous and I did not want to bring the boys inside from playing to cook dinner.

So, when Hubs got home from work, we loaded up the van and headed out.  It was a nice calm before the bad weather we’re supposed to be getting today.  And the pollen wasn’t as bad as it has been since we’ve had a few good rains recently.

Family time is the best.

Celebrating My Sister’s Birthday!!

And today is one of my sister’s birthday!!  Since it’s on Good Friday this year, my parents and other sister also have off of work, so we’re hoping to grab lunch to celebrate.  Here’s hoping these storms hold off until late this afternoon so we can make the drive to visit safely!

Birthdays are so fun to me – and not because we ever do anything fancy or elaborate.  But because I love to celebrate the people I love.

And that’s our week for you.  Like I said – full.  But in a good way.  Hub’s side of the family will be in town tomorrow to celebrate Easter and we’ll likely spend Sunday celebrating here at church, and taking sometime to rest with one another.

Easter makes me so excited and I cannot wait to celebrate it.  The work is finished, y’all.  He is risen, indeed.  That is good news!

I hope you have a wonderful weekend.  I hope it is full of celebration and rest.  And that you’re prepared to start next week off right.

Until then!
