Happy happy Monday!  I hope you had an excellent weekend.  We spent ours hanging out with family and friends, going to a toddler birthday party, getting some work done around the house and enjoying some good relaxing time at home.  You know those weekends?  The ones that are full, but still relaxing.  That was our weekend and I could not be more thankful.

I’m excited to be sharing another post in the What Mama Wore series with you all today.  While I certainly lean more on the side of mom and lifestyle blogger, these posts are quickly inching their way up in my favorites category.  I love to share what I’m wearing with you all – even when it’s nothing fancy or super trendy, or even new (because let’s be real.  #momlife).

I share these with you because every time I put on something from my closet and think, “this could be in it’s own blog post”, I”m reminded how truly grateful I am to have a closet full of clothes that I can just choose to wear.  To be honest, I really try not to spend too much when it comes to clothes and shop mostly clearance racks and second hand stores first.

But, I want to show you still, because it really does make my whole day better to get up and get dressed in something that makes me feel comfortable and well put together.  I also want to encourage you that you can often find these things right in your closet – and likely don’t need to buy a whole new wardrobe to do it.

All of that is to say, that today’s outfit is a new favorite that I’ve adopted during this pregnancy – the athleisure and streetwear look.  (BTW, what do YOU call this look? Athleisure? Streetwear? Something different?  I’ve seen it called both around the internet so I’m using both today.  If we’re being totally honest, I mostly call it “leggings as pants” and a comfy top, but that’s neither here nor there, I suppose.)

Since the weather is cooling down and this sweet baby bump keeps expanding, I’ve been wearing leggings more than ever.  I had a hard time finding a pair of maternity jeans that I love that don’t cost a fortune (although I did find a pair at Ross that have been pretty good and comfy  – and less than $20!), so I started wearing these a lot more.

I love that I can wear them with an oversized sweater, both of which are non-maternity even this close to my third trimester and still feel comfortable, cozy, and really confident.

This sweater is one that I purchased on Black Friday from JCPenney back in 2015 after having Little.  I loved it then, and still love it now.

I picked up these sneakers from TJ Maxx for just $24.99 and I’m basically obsessed with the gold toe on them.  So fun!

Now onto the pregnant life update aka the real fun over here…

November Pregnancy Update

How far along? 28 weeks + 4 days (and truly cannot believe that we are so far along!)

Maternity clothes? Yes and no.  I finally found a pair of maternity jeans that I don’t have to pull up every 30 seconds, so I’ve been in those quite a bit plus some maternity sweaters.  I’ve also been rocking my non-maternity athletic leggings and oversized sweaters – in today’s post for example.  I am thinking that I might need to find a maternity coat though since none of my coats or vests currently fit around my growing belly.

Stretch marks?  Still nothing new that I’ve noticed.  I’ve been a lot more diligent this pregnancy about keeping my skin well moisturized with the growing bump, so I might just make it out without new marks.  There’s still time though, so well see.

Sleep: Same as before for the most part.  Still getting to up throughout the night to use the bathroom, but this doesn’t bother me.  I’ve been waking up early these days and trying to get out of bed to make the most of the time before everyone else gets up.

Best moment this week: When Little and I spent the whole day focusing on “listening and obeying”. Two is a super fun and challenging age, I’m learning.  But, last Wednesday, Little was so focused on listening and obeying.  We spent the whole day doing things he liked and to I just want d to bottle the whole day up and never forget it.

I realize this isn’t pregnancy related, but it really was my favorite part of the week.

Have you told family and friends? Yep.

Movement: Yep.  We’ve been able to not only feel but see the littlest one moving from the outside of my belly for a few weeks now, which is always really fun for me!

Food cravings:  Fruit with sweet topping.  Like strawberries with whipped cream & dark chocolate or green apples with caramel sauce.

Anything making you queasy or sick:  Fortunately no.   I have been having heartburn here and there though.  Who knows, maybe he’ll have lots of hair?

Have you started to show yet: Yep.

Gender prediction:  It’s a boy!  Long live the hand-me-downs!  The closer we get, the more excited I get to see Little transition into his role as a big brother.

Labor Signs: Nope.

Belly Button in or out? Out.  Like way out.  You can see it in these pictures.  The doctors actually think I have a small umbilical hernia, which they aren’t worried about (and I fortunately don’t notice most of the time), so it’s definitely out.

Wedding rings on or off?  On.  But I’m still banking on them being off before we have this baby.  I’ve already bookmarked these silicone wedding rings for when the time comes.

Happy or Moody most of the time:  Mostly happy.  We’re staying busy these days getting ready for Thanksgiving and Christmas, regular life, work, and getting ready for the baby.  But, I think we’re all working well together as a team, and that makes me happy.

Weekly Wisdom: Savor all the good moments and remember that the tough ones will pass.

Milestones:  Passing my glucose test the first time.  I had to do the three hour test last pregnancy and fortunately did not end up with Gestational Diabetes.  Because of that, I expected to have to do the same this time and I was dreading it.  I literally cheered in the lab when the nurse told me I passed with the one hour test.

  13. You are SUCH a cute pregnant lady! I am glad to hear things seem to be going smoothly overall <3

    1. Mary Leigh says:

Thank you so much! We are thankful that things do seem to be going well! Praying for an uneventful third trimester and a healthy baby soon!

  14. I don’t know if I’ve told you yet or not, but congratulations! And it will be really interesting to see if baby comes out with hair since you’re having so much heartburn. I had zero heartburn during my pregnancy and my baby came out with a head full of thick, dark hair (just like his dad). Was your first baby born with hair? What an exciting time! Also, I love how cozy your outfit is. It’s always awesome when clothes are comfy AND stylish (I guess I would call it athleisure).

    1. Mary Leigh says:

Thank you! I’m interested to know, too! My first definitely had lots of hair, but not a ton compared to some babies I’ve seen. I had only a little heartburn with him, so we’ll see!

    1. Mary Leigh says:

      Thank you so much! <3

  15. Love your style. I’m just wondering if I can find those gold Converse in the UK, they look wonderfully bright and comfortable. #BloggersBest

    1. Mary Leigh says:

Maybe? I would check the Converse site directly – they might have them!

  16. You are looking super cute! I found it more difficult to find cute maternity things in the beginning, but Motherhood Maternity was one of my go-to’s and they had some really cute stuff thankfully!

    1. Mary Leigh says:

Thanks so much! I do like Motherhood – I’ll have to stop by and check them out!

    1. Mary Leigh says:

Thank you! Mostly because – leggings as pants! So comfy!

  17. Cute outfit! I like comfy and casual clothes too! I am glad you are feeling well during your pregnancy and pray it continues!

    1. Mary Leigh says:

Thank you so much, I really appreciate it!

  18. I am with you on loving weekends that feel both full AND relaxing…those are the best!! As someone who has never been through pregnancy before, I always find it fascinating to read posts like this…so much changes when you are pregnant! You look great.

    1. Mary Leigh says:

Aren’t they the best! So much definitely changes, but I am really thankful that I am feeling really good these days! You never know how your body will respond to all these new things!

  19. I also mainly shop the clearance sections but thrift stores is where I stop by first! Can’t wait to see more updates 🙂

    1. Mary Leigh says:

Yes – I love to find a good deal at thrift and consignment stores. We have some great consignment stores locally, so I try to stop there first when I need/want something new!

  20. You look wonderful! There’s nothing like comfort and flexibility for a mom whether pregnant or not. I, too, found a couple of fab, inexpensive pieces at Ross when I was pregnant. Always hidden gems there!

Love the updates and I’m happy you’re feeling good. Your cravings made me want dessert!

    1. Mary Leigh says:

Thank you so much; I totally agree! Ross tends to have some great things that are really affordable! I got several pieces from there my last pregnancy and need to go back for some winter clothes!

    1. Mary Leigh says:

Thank you so much! I should say the same about you this pregnancy! February will be fun!

  21. Full but relaxing weekends are the best! Athleisure is also my go-to look; it’s a perfect blend of comfortable but also looks like a tiny bit of effort.

    1. Mary Leigh says:

Yes! A tiny bit of effort – a lot of days, that’s all that’s required, thank goodness! <3

  22. Cute outfit! I am sure you are starting to get uncomfortable but it doesn’t show! I am going to have to find me some gold sneakers like that. I think they look so cute with your leggings! Best wishes on your newest addition!

    1. Mary Leigh says:

Thank you so much! I was actually feeling pretty good when we took these photos, although I am definitely starting to feel a lot more limited. It’s hard to believe how quickly this pregnancy is flying by!

  23. Congrats on your baby! You look super comfy! I like those shoes!

    1. Mary Leigh says:

Thank you! I was excited to find the shoes; I really like them!

    1. Mary Leigh says:

      Thank you so much!

    1. Mary Leigh says:

      Thank you!!

  25. Cute. I am all for the athleisure style…. maybe too much. BTW I had major cravings for fruit during pregnancy too! Smoothies everyday.

    1. Mary Leigh says:

Could be craving worse though, am I right?!

  26. I feel better too when I’m all pulled together. Helps my brain be less distracted and I can communicate face to face better. I’m glad your not queasy and can enjoy the remainder of your pregnancy looking fabulous.

    1. Mary Leigh says:

I feel the same way! And pulled together can still be comfy! Thank you so much for your well wishes!

  27. I love this look and you look so comfy! I remember when I was rocking my baby bump, I couldn’t find any maternity jeans that fit me well! Especially since I’m so tall! I found that the Belly Belt Kits work really well. They allow you to have the top part of your jeans open and a piece of cloth to blend in with your jeans. They helped tremendously!

    1. Mary Leigh says:

That is a great recommendation! Why ate jeans so hard to find?!

  28. You look gorgeous, I bet you couldn’t stop wearing those shoes: they are so pretty and strawberries with whipped cream are so good 😉

    1. Mary Leigh says:

Thank you!! I like them a lot! As far as the strawberries, they’re fruit right?! 💁

  29. Love your style, mama! And yay for baby boys!

    1. Mary Leigh says:

Thank you so much! Boys are a lot of fun! I’m so thankful for mine! <3

  30. Raising kids is my cardio! Work out clothes are a mom’s uniform!

    1. Mary Leigh says:

Heard that! Always on the go!

    1. Mary Leigh says:

Thanks so much! I’m trying to make it last as long as possible!

  31. That color blue looks good on you. Love the timelessness of your sweater.

    1. Mary Leigh says:

Thank you so much! I don’t have enough of this color in my closet – but I do really like it!

  32. Athleisure is my favorite! You look so cute and comfortable. Glad you are enjoying this series.

    1. Mary Leigh says:

Same! I love when something is both stylish and comfy! Such a win win!

  33. I really enjoy getting up just a bit earlier and having some quiet time for a cup of tea in the mornings before the kids get up. You are looking well, and comfy in your athleisure wear 🙂 #openslather

    1. Mary Leigh says:

It really does make a difference, I think. It’s something I’m working on!

  34. I love your precious belly pics and pregnancy update! I’ve also been trying to “shop my closet” lately. It’s amazing how many articles of clothing I have that I never wear!

    1. Mary Leigh says:

Thank you! You really can find lots of great things in your closet – even when you try to mix and match things in ways you might not have worn them before!

  35. Whooo. Love a well clad woman 👍

    1. Mary Leigh says:

      Thank you

  36. Such a cute outfit, and glad your pregnancy is going well!

    1. Mary Leigh says:

      Thank you so much!

  37. Stylish and comfortable?? I need clothes like this! 🙂

    1. Mary Leigh says:

      Yes! The best combo!

    1. Mary Leigh says:

      Thank you!

    1. Mary Leigh says:

Thanks so much! I’m just trying to find things that fit over here!

  38. I love those shoes! And your pregnancy update is great!

    1. Mary Leigh says:

Thank you so much! They are really fun!

  39. My husband found me a silicone wedding ring. I thought it was the sweetest gift 🙂

    1. Mary Leigh says:

Oh, I’m glad you liked it!! Lots of my friends have used them, too!

  40. You look adorable! I definitely did not look that fashionable and put together when I was pregnant! I was a wreck 🙂

    1. Mary Leigh says:

Thank you so much! I’m sure you were better than you thought you were! <3

  41. I love heels and fancy jewels just as much as I love athleisure. It really grew on my last year and know I feel like I wear leggings out almost every weekend! Your gold toe sneakers are such a steal and I bet look great with everything.

    1. Mary Leigh says:

Thank you so much! I agree with you – I love to get dressed up just as much as I love to be in this comfy outfit. The sneakers really were a great find I love the little sparkle that they add!

    1. Mary Leigh says:

      Thank you so much! <3

  42. You look so stylish! I hope I can look as fabulous as you during pregnancy when I have kids! 😉

    1. Mary Leigh says:

Thanks so much! You are too kind!

  43. You look so pretty! I love to dress comfortably and I am not pregnant! Enjoy the day! 🙂

    1. Mary Leigh says:

      Thanks so much, Angela!

    1. Mary Leigh says:

      I agree!! 🤗

  44. Pregnancy looks good on you girl! I absolutely loved being pregnant with my boys and finding the perfect outfit to stay comfy in all day was always a challenge for me. Leggings are so the way to go these days, whether your preggo or not. 🙂

    1. Mary Leigh says:

Thank you so much!! I can’t believe how quickly it is going by! Leggings are definitely a staple these days!

  45. You look great! I have to do the one hour test again soon. I had to do it at 15 weeks (I think) because my dad’s diabetic and I passed the one hour then, so I’m hoping I will this time too! I’m living in leggings more now myself. They’re making my dresses (which are much more comfy for work!) weather appropriate. Also, my mom and I picked up a maternity “pea coat” from Motherhood. Super comfy and lots of room!

    1. Mary Leigh says:

That is a great idea to use leggings to extend the wear for your dresses! I need to check out Motherhood for a jacket also! Good luck with the test – it is one of my least favorite parts of the regular OB visits. I’m grateful for it, but still don’t totally love it.

    1. Mary Leigh says:

      Thanks so much!
