Happy day, friends!  I’m excited for today’s post because I’ve got a really fun spring inspired recipe to share with you all!

This confetti crispy treats recipe is SO EASY, kid friendly and hugely versatile.  So, basically, perfect.

These rainbow sprinkle crispy treats are a fun twist on traditional rice krispy treats. Fun, kid-friendly recipe that turns out perfectly every time. #ricekrispies #cookingwithkids #kidfriendlyrecipes #crispytreats #rainbowsprinkles #partyfood

Would you believe me if I said I had never made Rice Krispy Treats before?  It’s a crazy thing, right?  Honestly, maybe I have made them before when I was younger, but have about zero recollection of that.

And then, I had a bag of marshmallows in the pantry and rainbow sprinkles and immediately thought how fun it would be to mix these sweet things into a box of crispy cereal.  Grabbed the cereal at the grocery store and here we are.

It was a really good and delicious idea.  It’s exactly the same as your traditional crispy treat only with rainbow sprinkles mixed in and then sprinkled on top for some fun.

Confetti Crispy Treats with Rainbow Sprinkles

INGREDIENTS

Rainbow Sprinkle Crispy Treats Recipe

DIRECTIONS

  • Melt butter over low-med heat in a large saucepan.  (I turned my oven burner between 3 and 4).
  • Add marshmallows and continue to stir until melted.
  • Gently stir in 1 handful of sprinkles.
  • Add cereal and mix until thoroughly coated.
  • Press into greased baking pan (I used a 9×13 pan, but you can use smaller if you wish) and allow to cool for about 20-25 minutes.
    • You can add extra sprinkles on top, if you wish.

How can you resist?!  These are so fun and festive.  Perfect for a spring treat, or birthday party snack.  Hello unicorn themed party!  Or a rainbow party!  Or just because.  I won’t judge you for it.

You could also mix them up with theme specific sprinkles, or even chocolate chips!
